Team Wild is the Hafod Region's 'evil team', acting as antagonists for the player and their allies. They are a nature-revering group, with members taking on druid-like characteristics. Similar to real-world cults, the team separates themselves from society, demonises outsiders and indoctrinates their followers through rousing speeches and songs.
Team Wild's overall aim is to reverse progress in Hafod, to return the region to a 'wild', primordial, golden age, untainted by humanity's greed and pollution. Initially they intend to do this by targeting individual examples of humanity's intervention that they deem 'too far' such as the electrical grid in Cerddinas City or the dam on Route 9. Eventually, it is revealed to the player that the team's ultimate goal is to awaken the ancient dragons of Hafod and use their powers of creation and transformation to restore what they see as lost.
Team Wild is mostly comprised of grunts, members who do the team's dirty work and get in the player's way. Above them are the admins, four young people who have a certain amount of power of the team, Densa, Penna, Squama and Inva. These four are cousins and siblings of one another with a shared grandmother, Team Wild's Boss, Vivi.
Vivi is the leader of Team Wild and has been since she was a young woman. She and her late husband had three children who, themselves, went on to have four children between them, the four Team Wild admins. When the admins and their parents were young, Team Wild was a less radical group with fewer members, living nomadically in the various wild lands of Hafod. But as time went on and the spread of new technology advanced, Vivi changed the group into a reactionary and radical group based on fear of the future and the rejection of progress.
When the admins were young teenagers, their parents decided amongst themselves they no longer agreed with their mother and the team's core tenets and wanted to leave. The admins, however, raised in the isolated and radicalising environment they had been, wanted to stay and so Vivi allowed their parents to leave on the condition they left their children behind. This 'betrayal', as it was perceived, only strengthened the young admins' belief in Team Wild's principles and turned them into the ruthless and dogmatic young people the player meets on their journey through Hafod.
In the climactic encounter with Team Wild in the Canu'r Gloch depths, Vivi ultimately fails to reshape Hafod into the arcadian paradise of her dreams and is forced to come to terms with the fact that time marches on and that things have to change. After the player encounters the dragons, Vivi is separated from her family and the player, turning to stone just as the dragons do. Team Wild disbands and the admins disappear.
