Hafod's Creation Myth
How the Hafod Region came to be
How the Hafod Region came to be
When the Pokémon world was yet untamed, there was a lone egg. A song came from somewhere, and from within the egg came a Pokémon, a red dragon. Beholding a land entirely unformed, this Pokémon drew upon the depths of its power, shaping the vast landscape into the Hafod region. The red dragon carved out the mountains, the valleys and the seas, breathing the fire of life over it all, filling even the rocks and the soil with an essential essence, with a potent energy.
This Pokémon was not only powerful but it was wise too. The red dragon knew in its heart that while this creation was perfect, without change it would be a numb and flat existence. So, it created a counterpart to itself, a Pokémon embodying innovation, a white Dragon. Together, they danced across the skies, heralding the beautiful and imperfect cycle of creation and evolution.
The two set about creating the Pokémon of the Hafod region. The red dragon would form creatures in a burst of fire, the essence of creation itself, and the white dragon would distinguish them from one another with its transformative breath, winds of change. Their intertwined breaths, inhaling and exhaling, create a harmonious cycle of inspiration and aspiration, where old and new, order and chaos, intertwine to sustain the dynamic equilibrium of the land.
However, the red and white dragons found themselves in discord. The white dragon created four Pokémon who would control the seasons, creating a cycle of constant change. Daffowyn imbued Hafod with the warm bloom of new Spring life, Oakhaf played among the green leaves of Summer, Turndref gently guided the transition to Autumn and, with the arrival of winter, Hollaeaf blanketed the land in snow. This angered the red dragon and their skirmish echoed across the land.
The maelstrom spiralled the cycle of the seasons into chaos and threatened to engulf the fragile harmony of Hafod. With impending calamity looming, the three peaks of Hafod— known then as Y Craffter, Yr Awen and Y Bywyn— bore three Legendary Pokémon guardians. Together, a symphony of creativity, discovery, and mastery, they moved the quarrelling dragons and the fighting stopped.
Eyes meeting, a reconciliation ensued, for the two dragons understood that balance lay not in dominance but in coexistence. Embracing this unity, they retreated to the very heart of Hafod, where they entered a serene slumber, their sleeping breaths becoming the quiet pulse of the land.
