Route 5 winds along the rugged coastline, through tall sandbanks. Trainers face a steep ascent with terrain far wilder than the other early routes and with fewer trainers.
Initially inaccessible from Route 2 due to a flock of menacing Gullagers, this coastal route serves as a connection between the Mwyn Peninsula and earlier areas of the region. Upon reaching Route 5 from the intended direction via Route 4, trainers find the Gullagers have dispersed, allowing passage through the windswept path.
