Cerddinas Sewers
Pronounced: KER-thin-as
オオダイコ下水道
The dark, spooky sewers that serve Cerddinas City.
A maze-like set of tunnels that run beneath the streets of Cerddinas City. In contrast to the sleek, modern feel of the city above, the true ancient nature of the place is apparent in the tunnels. Small Pokémon scamper about in the darkness.
As part of the player's mission to stop Team Wild's plans in Cerddinas City, the player navigates their way through the dark sewers until they catch up with Toby and Daphne at the city's electrical grid's maintenance area. Inside, there is a large domed room with control panels and futuristic displays. Some Team Wild grunts spot the three and rush over. Once defeated, the player, Daphne and Toby approach the centre of the room where a Team Wild admin turns and addresses them.
"A series of dark, maze-like tunnels under Cerddinas City."
The man introduces himself as Inva and declares that it’s already too late. Team Wild has grown weary of Toby’s interference, and now, they plan to end her “experiment” in Cerddinas once and for all. With a swift motion, he hurls several Pokéballs, releasing Floton, glowing, energy-feeding Pokémon that immediately latch onto the electrical equipment. As their eerie light intensifies, Inva sneers, arguing that Pokémon like Floton are unnatural, a byproduct of humanity’s corruption of the environment. He claims that Team Wild will turn this corruption against its creators, using these very Pokémon, born from industry’s waste, to eradicate technology and restore Hafod to its natural, unpolluted state.
Before the situation spirals further, Daphne steps forward, calmly introducing herself as Hafod’s new Pokémon professor. She acknowledges Inva’s point, admitting that Floton likely emerged as a result of human pollution but proposes that, after studying their behavior, people could discover how they might find their place in Hafod’s ecosystem. Inva, unimpressed, ignores her words. Before the surge becomes catastrophic, Toby instructs the player and Daphne to battle Inva, buying her time to activate the system’s failsafes. Together, the player and Daphne challenge Inva, and once defeated, he is crestfallen, begrudgingly ordering Team Wild to fall back, recalling the Floton into their Pokéballs.
With the immediate danger averted, Toby rejoins them, relieved that the crisis has been stopped, and commends both of them for their quick thinking. She tells the player she’s excited to hear they're taking on the gym challenges. She says goodbye and grins widely to Daphne as she leaves. As Daphne and the player emerge from the dark tunnels, she turns to them with a warm smile, thanking them for their help. She mentions she’ll be heading back to her lab to finish unpacking but promises they’ll cross paths again soon.
