This city, north of the high cliffs of Route 8, is known for its prestigious university which attracts many knowledgeable trainers. It is home to the fourth gym. To the East lies the Diafol Mines and, to the North, Route 10 leads to the Curiad Forest. Players can also access Odl y Môr Bay by talking to Laraine on the beach to the East.
Odl y Môr is a distinguished coastal town, renowned for its prestigious university. Players can explore the university which also houses the fourth gym. The town exudes an old-fashioned charm, with its cobblestone streets and historic architecture. There is a seafront, a department store, a Pokémon centre and a Pokémart.
The path north to Route 10 is initially blocked due to exceptionally strong winds but becomes accessibly once the player has beaten the Llais Hen gym.
Heading for the gym, the player is spotted by Dylan who challenges them to a battle. Dylan is impressed with how strong the player's team has become but advises them to be cautions them about this next gym— Dylan has heard that the fairy type gym leader, Olwen, uses an Ancestral Form Pokémon, as do all the subsequent gym leaders.
Vowing to find out more and get them some Ancestral Form Pokémon of their own too, he leaves to restock on battle supplies at the department store.

"Dive into history!"
After the battle, the player speaks to Olwen about their chance meeting with Signe and Olwen thanks them for helping her. She offers her knowledge about the Pokénogi and Ancestral Form Pokémon, explaining that the stories of the Pokénogi are like the pieces of a puzzle from long ago, scattered and hidden over the Hafod region. Olwen suggests that if the player wants to be a Pokémon master of the Hafod region, they should try and find as many scrolls as they can.
She gives the player the Scroll of Warmth, the tale from the Pokénogi that allows Lithowoodo to unlock its Ancestral Form, and tells them that she can make copies of scrolls they bring to her. She also recommends tracking down Sparrow, the mysterious man the player met after catching Obitten at Anadl Castle Ruins, as he may know where other scrolls are located. Finally, Olwen also advises the player that they head West through the Diafol Mines towards the next gym as Route 10, north of Odl y Môr, is currently inaccessible due to extremely high winds.
If the player heads to the beach to the east, they can meet with Laraine. She is excited to see them and tells them to prepare for a great adventure. Read more about Odl y Môr Bay here.
