Curiad Forest
Pronounced: KI-ree-ad
ツヅミの森
A dark forest with tall, ancient trees where the rhythm of nature fills the air. It connects Route 10 and Route 11.
Curiad Forest is an overgrown, atmospheric woodland where the dense foliage makes it difficult to traverse, even for experienced hikers. There are parts of the forest that are very dark and some where light streams in from the canopy above. There is distant drumming beyond the trees.
Large, round webs are stretched across the trees and branches due to the presence of Timpantula in the area. It is filled with trainers who have been afflicted by the Timpantula bite and cannot stop dancing. Once defeated in battle, they return to normal.
Entering the forest, Ume remarks that the webs on the trees look almost like drums. Suddenly a trainer appears through some bushes, dancing frantically. They challenge the two to a battle. Once the battle is over the trainer seems to snap out of whatever trance they had been in, saying that the last thing they remember was the feeling something had bitten them.
Ume remarks that she is very glad she isn’t alone and heals the player's Pokémon whenever they lose HP.
"A dark forest with tall, ancient trees where the rhythm of nature fills the air."
At the end of the forest, Ume sees the exit and begins to thank the player for their help when suddenly Dylan appears from the thicket. He is dancing frantically like the others. After battling and defeating him, he, too, is freed from the dancing state. He is dazed momentarily and then recognises the player, thanking them for rescuing him. He introduces himself to Ume whom he is thrilled to meet, he loves The Red Dragon Bakery.
Ume gives the player a bounty of baked goods as a gift, to thank them for accompanying them through the woods. She gives some to Dylan too with a wink. Dylan begins eating immediately. She says she hopes she will see the two of them again at the ‘Hafod Soul’ Music Festival, up by Corhendre Town. She leaves. Dylan says nervously that he’s glad to be out of the forest and rushes ahead.
