Pennillan Town is an artisan haven known for its colorful and ornate architecture. The town features sculptural and masonry details that reflect the vibrant, artistic flair of the town's artistic director, Gerardo. Its unique aesthetic creates a charming and picturesque environment. There is a Pokémon centre, a Pokémart and the seventh gym.
Upon entering the town, the player encounters Daphne who is exhausted and covered in dirt. However, she has a big smile on her face and tells the player how happy she is to be here. She laughs at herself, wondering what happened to the chic girl the player met back on Route 1.
She appears genuinely troubled for a moment at her sartorial state but bounces back and tells the player how much she’s been wanting to visit Pennillan Town, enough even to brave the craggy road here. She explains that every brick has been dreamt up by the town’s gym leader Gerardo.
Before they head off to explore the town, Daphne requests the two battle. She wants to show off a new, exciting pokémon she found on Route 13. After the battle, she tells the player she thinks they might be good enough to take on the Pokémon league some day. She rushes off into the town to find some new clothes.
"A town of warm welcomes"

After the battle, Gerardo gives the player the Kiln badge and the Scroll of Curiosity, the scroll that unlocks Mogrumble’s ancestral form. He thanks the player for such a colourful battle. Suddenly, one of Gerardo’s apprentices runs in and tells Gerardo to come outside quickly. The three run outside.
Outside Gerardo’s studio, a mob of Team Wild members chant, their voices echoing through Pennillan Town. At the center stands Densa, a man with a megaphone, passionately addressing the growing crowd. He denounces Gerardo’s artistic influence on the town, calling it a “gaudy foreign blight” that masks Hafod’s true essence. His words stir the Team Wild grunts into action, and soon, their Blacaidds howl as they strike the central clocktower with hammers, chipping away at the intricate stonework.
At that moment, Daphne steps forward, snatching the megaphone from Densa’s grip, her voice ringing out across the square. She speaks not just for Gerardo, but for herself and shares her own struggles with identity— Though born in Hafod, she spent much of her life in other lands, and upon returning, she has questioned whether she truly belongs. But, she declares, being Hafodian isn’t about where you were born, it’s about the love you have for the land and its people. The townspeople erupt in agreement and Densa watches in a stunned stupor as his loyal followers are chased out of town. Gerardo steps forward to thank Daphne, but before she can respond, Densa lunges toward her in rage.
A battle erupts, with Daphne calling for the player’s help. Once Densa is defeated, he stomps in frustration and storms out of town. In the aftermath, Steren, Toby, and Dylan emerge from across the square, having witnessed the entire event. Toby places a reassuring hand on Gerardo’s back, acknowledging the hostility he has faced for simply sharing his art. She assures him that Hafod’s heart is big enough for everyone and apologizes on behalf of Hafod's people. Then, turning to Daphne, she grabs her hands and praises her for her courage and inspiring words. Dylan, meanwhile, approaches the player, shaken by the day’s events, struggling to comprehend that people in Hafod could be so closed-minded. Gerardo, sensing the weight of the moment, warmly invites everyone into his studio to rest, thanking the player for their part in protecting the town. As Daphne, Dylan, Steren, and Gerardo’s apprentices follow him inside, the player is left standing outside with Toby, watching the embers of conflict settle in the cool Hafodian air.
Toby thanks the player for their help dispatching Team Wild and Densa, saying how sad it is that people have such ignorant and reductive views. However, as she explains, it isn’t merely dangerous views that Team Wild are harbouring but dangerous plans: she has received word that Team Wild’s mysterious boss plans to awaken Hafod’s hidden legendary Pokémon in order to wreak havoc. Heron cannot get hold of his brother, Sparrow, and it’s theorised that Team Wild have kidnapped him, holding him in their secret underground HQ and learning from his vast knowledge of Hafod’s myths and legends.
Reluctantly, Toby asks if the player will go to Team Wild’s HQ and rescue Sparrow. She asks them to keep this mission a secret and to go alone. She gives them a Team Wild disguise and recommends that they utilise the newly finished train system to get there as soon as possible. With that, she wishes the player luck and is joined by Steren before leaving.
After the events with Team Wild and Densa, the train station is open and can be used to travel from Pennillan Town to the base of Y Craffter, close to Corhendre Town.
