Trainers entering the gym are welcomed into Gerardo's pottery studio filled with clay pots, vases, and intricate sculptures. Before battling Gerardo, the player must defeat his apprentices who, inspired by the battles, will skillfully produce a sculpture of your pokemon upon defeat. Then, beside the heat of the kiln, Gerardo will be ready to challenge.
"As well as acting as the town's Gym Leader, Gerardo is also a skilled craftsman. In fact most of the town's buildings are decorated with his intricate carvings. Gerardo isn't originally from Hafod but he represents the sturdy core of the region."
